Normalize before comparing
Do not compare proposal totals until each supplier has answered the same questions.
- Same application and operating profile.
- Same temperature and relative-humidity pairs, transitions, dwell, and access events.
- Same loaded geometry, product or process loads, equipment heat, lighting, people, and moisture assumptions.
- Same facility, utility, drainage, heat-rejection, structural, and installation responsibilities.
- Same base scope and separately labeled optional or owner-furnished equipment.
- Same mapping, testing, documentation, acceptance, and handoff expectations.
- Same warranty, service, training, and lifecycle assumptions.
- Same exclusions, deviations, alternates, and schedule basis.
Claim and evidence boundaries
A supplier’s published control accuracy does not prove mapped room uniformity. Ask how spatial performance will be evaluated for the actual configuration, load, sensor basis, and protocol.
Mapping, qualification, validation, compliance, documentation, and acceptance are not inherent chamber states. Record the requirement source, owner, method, and expected evidence.
Monitoring, chart recording, remote access, detachable tablets, alarms, building integration, and redundancy are optional or configuration-dependent. Compare them as explicit scope items.
Score the response
Use a simple 0 to 3 evidence scale for internal comparison:
- 0: No response or outside proposed scope.
- 1: General statement with no configuration-specific evidence.
- 2: Clear response with assumptions and identified owner.
- 3: Clear response supported by applicable documentation, drawing, method, or project evidence.
