How the refrigeration system is selected

Room dimensions are only the starting point. Product load, equipment, people, lighting, door openings, infiltration, pull-down needs, and recovery expectations all affect system capacity.

Define the setpoint or temperature range, acceptable operating band, constant or changing setpoints, starting product temperature, and any pull-down or recovery requirement.

Refrigerant selection affects components, controls, charge, equipment arrangement, installation, and listing scope. Indoor A2L projects require system-level review rather than a simple refrigerant substitution.

Defrost & moisture load

How will frost be managed at the design condition?

The defrost approach is selected around design temperature, humidity and infiltration, door activity, coil conditions, operating profile, and system architecture. Reverse-cycle defrost is available on matched Norlake systems where applicable.
